Micah Sky’s love affair with the arts started at the age of 7, when he developed a passion for playing the piano. Since then he's become an accomplished photographer, videographer, video editor, multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, producer and DJ, earning him the moniker “the creative Swiss army knife”.
After completing a bachelors degree in Liberal Arts at McGill University, with specialties in Film Studies and Philosophy, Micah returned to Toronto to pursue film and music professionally.
For the last 15 years he's been working as a freelance musician and cameraman, editor and director, specializing in concerts, events, music videos and promotional films for the arts and in the corporate world.
His video work includes films for The Barenaked Ladies, the Writer’s Trust of Canada, RBC, TD Bank, Air Transat, The University of Toronto, the Bell Boots and Hearts Campfire series and PEPSI.
He’s also played on festival stages and venues across North America with a variety of artists, including Yossi Fine at the Joshua Tree Music festival and Conor Gains at the TD Montreal Jazz festival in 2018.
When he’s not working on video projects, he’s working on his own music, playing guitar and singing in acoustic duo Sky & Rose, drums in the psychedelic jazz-trio UV & The Rays, keyboards and percussion with Pudding, and teaching music with Jamlab or his own private students.
He’d love to hear from you about collaborating on your next project!
