Micah Sky started playing piano when he was 7 years old. Since then he's taught himself drums, guitar, audio production, photography, video production and Spanish, earning him the moniker “the human Swiss army knife”.
After completing a bachelors degree in Liberal Arts at McGill University, with specialties in Film Studies and Philosophy, Micah returned to Toronto to pursue film and music professionally.
For the last 10 years he's been working as a freelance cameraman, editor, director and production assistant, specializing in concerts, events, music videos and promotional films. His video work includes films for The Barenaked Ladies, the Writer’s Trust of Canada, RBC, TD Bank, Air Transat, The University of Toronto and the Bell Boots and Hearts Campfire series. He’s also played on festival stages and venues across North America with a variety of artists, including Yossi Fine at the Joshua Tree Music festival and Conor Gains at the TD Montreal Jazz festival in 2018. He is comfortable working in English, French and Spanish.
When he's not working on video or film projects, or touring out of town, you can hear him performing around Toronto with the likes of David Celia, Paul Reddick, Conor Gains, Dave Borins, The Responsibles, The Caution Jam and many other local artists. He also sings and plays guitar in Sky & Rose, with his partner Liana Rose, and teaches music with PACT Music, Jamlab, and privately with his own students.
